Thankful

I have been thinking about how our health care standards might change now that we are one step closer to socialized medicine. I have to say that I have been very upset at the thought that we might receive care that might be less than the level of care we are used to. But then I started to think about the miracle that we were given. I keep thinking about how Elainea was thought to have Hepatitis C and how that must have affected the level of care that she was given.
I keep thinking that she must have been branded. That if she was ever injured that they would not rush to comfort her due to the fear of being infected with a disease she never had. I keep thinking about how blessed we are that she was able to come home with us and be cared for the way she should be cared for and the way she deserves to be cared for. I have decided to hang onto that thought and be thankful for what we have and not fear the upcoming changes.

South Dakota Trip

We visited family in South Dakota and here are a few of the pictures we took. What a wonderful time we had! We were able to reconnect with some family and our kids loved getting to play with some cousins they have not seen in a while. We totally enjoyed ourselves. The drive home was longer than expected when they closed 1-80 and we were delayed for 2.5 hours. We returned home tired but happy that we were not involved in the accident that closed the highway!
