One short plane trip for the Rockwell’s, one huge leg of our adoption journey complete. Today we left Beijing and arrived in Haikou. It is hard to imagine that we are in the same country. We left a city of over 14 million people to one with only about 1 million. The modern city of Beijing with the fast-paced lifestyle, to a slower agricultural/tourist destination of Haikou.
Most of the three families that made the journey together sat in silence on the bus and we soaked in the local surroundings hoping to take in an understanding of the culture and lifestyle of our children.
We are all tired but excited to finally meet our children in the morning. I can not believe that in ten hours we will finally hold our precious little Elainea. This post is short as we need to go to bed. We look forward to sharing “Gotcha Day” with you tomorrow.
